Book Review: The Accidental Mermaid

Book Review: The Accidental Mermaid
Title:  Accidental Mermaid
Author:  Dakota Cassidy
Release Date:  October 1, 2017
Source:  eARC provided by the author

Esther Williams Sanchez is busy living her life the way she’s always done. Spending time with her pets, working as a divorce mediator, and enjoying her newly renovated cottage on the beach.

Learn to swim with a bunch of babies and toddlers? Easy-squeezy, right? Er, no. As Esther leaves the pool after her very first lesson, she sprouts a magnificent tail and fins. Oh, and hair the color of a rainbow. Lots and lots of luscious hair.

Lucky for her, the OOPS girls are on site, and as they set about finding out how this happened to Esther, they run into a hunky Australian merman named Tucker Pearson who happens to be the key to Esther’s problem. But Tucker has problems of his own, and they include being kicked out of his family’s bottled water company, booted from his pod, and accused of embezzling over a million bucks.

Oh, and killing someone… OOPS, here we go again! (Goodreads)

My Review:

Despite this being book 16 in the series, it was pretty easy to follow once you got your feet wet. The author dumped us straight into the deep end of the pool and it was sink or swim. Luckily, sorting out who was who wasn't hard and soon things were going swimmingly once more.

Sorry. The story really got its hooks in me and....

I'll stop now.

TTBA's Bookish Secret Santa 2017

My friend Michelle over at The True Book Addict hosted a Bookish Secret Santa Exchange on Facebook. I love swapping with my fellow book lovers, so was very happy that Michelle decided to host again this year!

This past holiday was a comedy of errors from beginning to end, including this swap! I get so many emails that I sort the ones I want to keep into folders for easy access. So when I was ready to go shopping for my Secret Santa, I went to my swap folder to take notes on what to buy. So I took notes. Bought gifts. Wrapped them up and shipped them off. Sent Michelle the tracking number and all was well...until it wasn't.

Received a very polite, diplomatic note from Michelle after Christmas letting me know that my Secret Santa had not received anything. Doofus Me had pulled last year's Secret Santa email by mistake! Major duh!

Michelle is a much nicer person than I am and didn't point out my doofus-ness. I felt so bad that my Santee hadn't received anything for Christmas that I hit Amazon as soon as I got Michelle's email! My face is still red! Major oops!

But alls well that ends well and she seemed to like her delayed gifts. Sorry again, Bev!

My Secret Santa was not a doofus and I received my package well before Christmas!

Secret Santa Goodies
Opened the box before Christmas, but was good and waited to unpack everything until Christmas morning!
