My Book Haul 10/28/2017

36 Questions That Changed My Mind About You by Vicki Grant, Accidental Mermaid by Dakota Cassidy, Breach of Containment by Elizabeth Bonesteel, Demon Freaks by JRRR Hardison, and Wicked Dead by Rick Gualtieri
In need of a new way to showcase titles, I decided that My Book Haul seems like a good fit. I like giving books a little special attention as sometimes it can be awhile before I'm able to review them. Sad to say, but some get put on the shelf and gather a little dust before I'm able to give them the love they deserve. I've included links to Goodreads if you want more information.

For Review:

Read an excerpt of this one and enjoyed it, so requested a copy when I saw it offered via the Amazon Vine review program. Reminds me a little of an old Big Bang Theory episode!

Inspired by the real psychology study popularized by the New York Times and its "Modern Love" column, this contemporary YA is perfect for fans of Eleanor and Park.

Our seventh edition of Buzz Books: Young Adult gives readers the special excitement of being at BookExpo.

Buzz Books are just like a box of chocolates, you open it and you can smell the wonderful aroma and they all look so good that you don't know which one to pick. My advice: pick them all. All the excerpts in this volume will appeal to many types of readers. There's fantasy, love, hatred, fights, and even comics. (Goodreads)

My Review:

The Buzz Book samplers are one of my favorite ways to discover new books and authors! Here are some of the samples that caught my eye from this collection:

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust

Frozen meets The Bloody Chamber in this feminist fantasy retelling of the Snow White fairytale as you've never heard it before, tracing the relationship of two young women doomed to be rivals from the start: the beautiful princess and stepmother queen.

Your One & Only by Adrianne Finlay

Jack is a walking fossil. The only human among a sea of clones. It’s been hundreds of years since humanity died off in the slow plague, leaving the clones behind to carry on human existence. Over time they’ve perfected their genes, moving further away from the imperfections of humanity. But if they really are perfect, why did they create Jack?

  1. Miracle of Morning Pages by Julia Cameron
  2. Half a Prayer by Rick Gualtieri
  3. Secrets in Death by JD Robb
  4. Journal Sparks by Emily Neuburger
