30 Days of Books, Days 1-8

30 Day of Books
Jenni Elyse is hosting a 30 Days of Books Event! I stumbled across it late, but it looks like fun so decided to jump in and catch up!

The best book you read last year

The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness. Really loved this story, as it was quirky and humorous but still interesting and well written. I couldn't put it down and it was my only 5/5 rated read from last year!

A book that you’ve read more than 3 times

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. This was the first book I've ever read where I'd actually been to some of the same locations as the characters! Since I read it right after my dream vacation to London, it really struck a chord with me and I reread it every year until my TBR pile grew too high. Think it's about time for another reread!

Your favorite series

The "In Death" series by JD Robb. Really love watching Dallas grow as a character and appreciate that the characters continue to evolve are aren't stuck in a rut. Love that she reluctantly grows her circle of friends and comes to understand how important they are to her, plus there's the awesome relationship with her husband Roarke! Yum!

Favorite book of your favorite series

The most recent book in the series, as each one is better than the last!

A book that makes you happy

Anything by Neil Gaiman.

A book that makes you sad

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I own this book, but get anxious and sad every time I pick it up because I'm afraid that it's going to make me cry. I want to read it, but still haven't found the "right" time.

Most underrated book

This is a tough one, as I'm not sure how to interpret "underrated" so going to go with a book I really loved that others didn't hold as near and dear to their hearts:  The Future of Us by Jay Asher & Carolyn Mackler. One of my rare 5/5 star reviews.

Most overrated book

Another tough one! I'd have to say Covet by J.R. Ward because I had such high hopes for the series. Incredibly disappointing all the way round.

  1. Yay you joined us! I just bought The Rest of is Just Live here the other day. I'm excited to read it. I've only read one Jay Asher book. I need to read some of his others. He's a good author.

    1. Your blog is where I first saw this and it looked like fun, so jumped into the deep end of the pool! I need to read more Jay Asher books since I liked The Future of Us so much.

  2. Great post even if I've not got the appeal of Neil Gaiman. Perhaps I just haven't read the right book for me yet.

I've only read one book by Patrick Ness (The Knife Of Never Letting Go?) but would love to read more of his work, perhaps starting with The Rest of Us Just Live Here.
