Happy Birthday to ME!

Today is my birthday!

Time flies when you're having fun! Last month was my third blogoversary. Not sure when I passed the 500 mark with my followers (THANK  YOU!). Was going to mark both of those occasions, then suddenly it was May and I'm not sure where the time went! Oops!

But I want to celebrate!

Want to spread the love as it's hard for me to believe it's been three years already! And that other people actually want to read what I've written! Plus, it's my birthday and everyone knows it's always more fun to party with your friends!

So in honor of my 3rd year Blogoversary and my Birthday Month, I'm having a giveaway!

For US winner:

I really, really love my Simple Touch! I'm a reader, so don't need the bells and whistles of a tablet. Plus, it's so lightweight and the screen is so easy to read! I was late jumping on the eReader train, but love it! It's great for travel, and publishers are starting to offer more eARCs than print, as it's more cost effective. And if you have an eReader, then you can request titles from NetGalley! So want to spread the eReader love around by offering a NOOK Simple Touch to one lucky reader! It's US only as it won't work for anyone outside the country, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten my friends overseas!

For international winner:

$25 Barnes & Noble online gift certificate
or

$25 Amazon online gift card
or

Book of your choice from The Book Depository (up to $25 US)

Sound good? Want to enter? Just fill out the form below!
Earn one extra entry by leaving me a comment with book suggestions on what I should buy with my birthday gift card! Looking for books that will grab me by the throat and won't let go!

  1. Happy Happy Birthday!

Birthdays are always a big deal in my life, too. I think it is awesome that you are celebrating by being generous for others. That is AWESOME. (Oh and Happy 3 years!) :)

For book suggestions -- I really enjoyed "This Girl is Different". The author's name is kind of slipping my mind at the moment. The cover looks "eh" but it was a great read. :)

  2. Happy Birthday from one May baby to another (mine is on the 22nd)! Awesome giveaway!

For book suggestions- Ready Player One, anything by Lisa Gardner but her newest one is Catch Me, I Am Not A Serial Killer by Dan Wells and Roboapoclypse was a fun, riveting read. On the YA front, I just finally read Divergent, although almost every other Blogger on the planet has read this book, in case you haven't you simply must! I personally can't wait to get my hands on Kristin Cashier's Bitterblue, but I would always recommend her book Fire. Happy book buying!

As for the contest...wow,aren't you the generous birthday girl? ^_^ Hmm....book or series suggestions, huh? Can't remember if you've read them (pardon if you have) but if you haven't, you should check out the ESCAPE FROM FURNACE series. It is dark and twisted but in a good way (well, you know what I mean). JUST finished the UK version of book 5 since it doesn't release stateside til November....yeah, it's THAT good.

    Party hard...just not TOO hard....^_^

I think you should consider buying a copy of Hollow Earth by John and Carole E Barrowman, not out in the US until later in the year, its well worth the wait.

  8. Happy Birthday and blogoversary and 500 followers! Congrats on such milestones.

I recently read a book by Peter Straub that was released in the late 70s. It's Ghost Story and I finally got around to reading it. I loved it! Also, if you like historical fiction, I really enjoyed The King's Agent by Donna Russo Morin.

    Thanks for the generous giveaway!

  12. Congrats on all the milestones! You are awesome. And thank you so much for the giveaway.

I still think you need to read Pandemonium by Daryl Gregory, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, and The Man in the Brown Suit by Agatha Christie. And I do agree with the earlier suggestion of Rotters. Oh and Gillespie and I by Jane Harris.

I recommend Downsiders by Neal Shusterman, which is about a civilisation that lives in the New York underground. Well, it's really about the boy who is curious about the "Topside" and the girl who is pulled into the "Downside"--but I don't want to explain more because half the magic is in the discovery. =) Downsiders is one of the most original YA novels I've ever read, and my go-to recommendation for anyone looking for a new read. =)

A belated Happy Birthday to you, Alexia! And best wishes on your blogging. Thanks for the giveaway.
