In My Mailbox (87)

In My Mailbox (87)
In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. I've included links to Goodreads if you want more information on the books.

For Review:

Received a copy of Loose Diamonds from the publisher for review, via Shelf Awareness. I've read some of Amy's work before and enjoyed it enough to give her book a try.

Purchased:

Went to Borders for one last goodbye and was surprised how many good books were left! Could easily have filled up a shopping cart with books as I wanted to give them all a good home, but contented myself with this batch (still on a book buying ban, but this was a mission of mercy!)

books

Green-Eyed Envy by Kasey MacKenzie
Forgotten Truth by Dawn Cook
Magic to the Bone by Devon Monk
Darkest Edge of Dawn by Kelly Gay
Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire
Mob Rules by Cameron Haley
Dark Jenny by Alex Bledsoe
Bewere the Night anthology

Looking forward to seeing what everyone got in their mailboxes this week! Think there will be more than one mailbox full of Border books!

  1. I miss Borders. When ours closed there wasn't a lot left to choose from. We cleaned them out. Too bad it took a closing sale to get people to buy things there. *sigh*

Great haul and I look forward to your reviews!

  3. Amy - Wasn't it sad? I loved my local Borders, as it was spacious and welcoming and the booksellers were so nice! Was shocked that they had so many good books left, as I could have easily bought four times as many titles. Proud of myself for the restraint, but kicking myself for passing up such great bargains! *L*

  6. Ah yes....a bitter sweet fairwell indeed. My Borders loot was posted last week but I know what you mean....I hated to leave anything behind. Sad seeing any book without a home. Anywho...great choices, happy reading! ^_^

  7. I went at the end when ours closed last winter and still managed to come away with a whole bag of books, but I think that is me, I can always find something that looks good to read! Enjoy your books!

  8. I know how you feel. Going on a book buying ban starting now. Hope you enjoy the books. Will miss Borders very much.

  9. Ryan - When I first walked in, I thought I was too late as there were only a few shelves left. But was amazed at all the treasures I found! Guess urban fantasy isn't popular in my neck of the woods...

GMR - Yes, very bittersweet, as that particular store was my favorite.

Jill - I know exactly what you mean! :)

Grace - Book buying bans are easy so long as you don't go into bookstores! That was my big mistake! *L*

  10. Love Borders too and at least we still have their online site. Never had a local Borders only a Barnes and Noble. Very sad it went away.

  12. Interesting finds you have here. I have to admit though that most of the titles are quite unfamilar to me. I'd be interested to see how you like most of them.

Our IMM post for the week is also about stuff Fats (another of our blogger-contributors) got from Borders in San Diego. Here it is:

  14. Cassandra - There's a Barnes & Noble a few towns over, but it's not as close as my Borders was. They will be missed.

Candance - Sounds like I was lucky, as I was surprised how many good books they had left!

Myra - Most of these are urban fantasy. One I bought just because it was a Luna imprint and I've always had good luck with them. Love Luna!

Aisle B - Checked out your IMM and you got some great books this week too! Happy reading!
