In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. Had another surprising week when I received books I wasn't expecting. Love surprises in my mailbox!
Received a copy of Penguin Luck by Kay Mupetson from an email offer from Meryl L Moss Media Relations. It's a little outside my usual genres, but I'm trying to expand my horizons and this sounded like a good one!
Received two Margaret Ronald ARCs, Wild Hunt and Spiral Hunt. I checked my email history and my review lists but don't have a record of requesting these books, so what a nice surprise! Maybe I forgot to mark these down, as the editor wrote "congrats" on her business card. A mystery for sure, as I'm pretty anal about keeping track of contests and review requests. Guess it really doesn't matter in the long run, as both of these books look really cool!
Was surprised when Morning Sunshine showed up in the mail, as I was notified that I had won this from BBAW back at the beginning of October! When it never arrived, I just wrote it off as lost. I've had a handful of books lost in transit, so chalked it up to karma. Yea for surprises in the mailbox! Am trying something a little different by linking the titles and cover pictures to Goodreads in case anyone wants more information. I've had nice surprises in my mailbox the past two weeks, so can't wait to see what next week brings!

Ohh, interesting books! I haven't heard of ANY of them, but the covers look interesting. Happy reading, and I hope you learn to exude more confidence?! ;)

inthehammock - Love the title!
ReplyDeleteSheila - Cool! We can compare notes on Penguin Luck once we've both read it!
Cindy - Thanks! :)
Peter - I'm surprised no pubs will send you review copies, as blogs have no borders.
Sasha - Wow, thanks Sasha! Will be right over! :)
Nina - Thanks for stopping by Nina!
Milka - I like that the publicist sent me a hand-written note with the book instead of just a form letter. Thought it was a nice touch.
Petty Witter - Guess there's only so many names to go around. Sort of like bands, where you have to get stranger and stranger in order to stand out!
Yunaleska - Haven't heard of this writer before, but read the first paragraph of one and it sounds good!
ReplyDeleteSo Many Books - Thank you!
Book Chick - I do a little happy dance whenever I see packages waiting for me! Love surprises!
Shannon - Looking forward to lots of fun with these!
Ladystorm - What a nice surprise! Hope you like The Maze Runner as much as I did!

ReplyDeleteCallie - Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteDonna - Looking forward to these two! Really glad that I received both, so I don't have to wait for the sequel. :D
Stephanie - Any week I receive books is a good week!
REally like the Spiral Hunt cover. Have fun this week!
ReplyDeleteI study in International High School here in Finland and as a part of our studies were have to write this thing called extended essay. I will watch the Pride and Prejudice adaptations and probably write my essay about how the adaptations have changed over time. :)
ReplyDeleteAlyssa - I think a cool cover really helps peak my interest in a book, so still miffed that authors don't have final approval. Miffed! Haven't used that word in awhile. *L*
ReplyDeleteMilka - Cool! Bet there are so many differences, as the films are decades apart!
Thank you so much! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I will have 4 different adaptations to use for my essay: the 1940s one, 1980s one, 1995 one and 2005 one. And probably I will also use Bride and Prejudice and the Bridget Jones's Diary as modern day P&P adaptations. :)
